Naval became Internet's Favorite Philosopher—Here's How
Tapping into Unfair advantages. Telling compelling stories. And the Playbook for it all.
Watch this 👀
Joe Rogan: You’re one of the rare guys.
Naval: Yeah, one of the biggest reasons why people like hearing me is…
What Naval said next would explain everything about how he went from a ‘Smart Guy’ to ‘The Sage of Silicon Valley’.
We’ll get to that in a minute
Until then
👋 Welcome to the very first edition of The Big Brand Theory!
Today, we’re gonna do a deep dive into Naval Ravikant.
Yes, the legendary serial entrepreneur and investor (it feels almost stupid to introduce him)
Most startup founders can quote the entire Naval philosophy from memory.
But how did he create such a strong personal brand?
And that too, with a blog and Twitter.
But before all that, let’s back up a bit.
We all have seen, read, or heard Naval’s quotes somewhere.
But surprisingly few of us actually know his story.
After graduating from Dartmouth University, Naval went to work for Boston Consulting Group.
For someone born poor and raised by a single mother, you would think joining BCG would be the dream life.
But not for Naval.
It was the 1990s. The great dot-com boom.
And the young Naval left BCG to launch his own venture- Epinions.
Bold move, my man!
In the next few years, Naval scaled Epinions to a multi-million dollar business.
And he didn't stop there.
In 2003, he went on to become a Venture Partner at August Capital.
Phew.....from a poor immigrant to a multi-millionaire founder and investor. That's quite a life to live.
But, in 2007 is where things began to get really interesting.
Because that was the day, he launched his blog.
